How to get the best from your computer consultant

1. Write down all you have done since your computer showed signs of being ill and make a note of any error messages displayed. Give these notes to your computer consultant to read whilst his coffee cools down, otherwise he may start looking at your newspaper.

2. Ask him to check that your virus protection is up to date, that is, if you have any. If you are open to the Internet, ask your consultant to install the necessary software. He can also install a software firewall that protects you from uninvited intrusion while you are surfing the Internet. Again ask your consultant for details.
